About Me
My name is Mackenzie Swim. I am currently in my second year of the elementary education program at UVic. I enjoy traveling and experiencing new adventures. When I am not stuck in zoom meetings, I spend my time with my huge family and our fur babies. I love to swim, skate, and hike but most of all I love to learn and share my knowledge with others. Teaching is my passion and I can not wait to see where my journey to become a teacher takes me next!

Teaching Philosophy
It is difficult to put into writing a concrete philosophy to encompass how I feel. My teaching philosophy is one that is constantly evolving as I grow as a person. As of now, I believe educators have a responsibility to create a safe and inclusive environment for all learners. Learning is an incredibly vulnerable experience, so it is a teacher’s job to cultivate a psychologically safe classroom. Students are able to meet their full potential when they can share their ideas and take risks.
